Rabbi Slavin spent a week in hospital with head injuries following the incident.Because the case was dismissed without a conviction, an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was not automatically issued. However, under instructions from Rabbi Slavin, police prosecutors initiated proceedings to secure an AVO, which was granted despite an advertisement taken out by Rabbi Gestetner in the Sydney edition of the AJN (22/5), apologising to Rabbi Slavin for the incident.
