Hat tip to Chaptzem Blog.http://chaptzem.blogspot.com/2005/02/meal-mart-processing-plant-closed-down.htmlTuesday, February 15, 2005Meal-Mart processing plant closed down by Department of AgricultureMeal-Mart's meat processing plant on Long Island has been shut by the United States Department of Agriculture due to bacteria that had been discovered there. The plant which was mainly used to process and package their line of sliced cold-cut meats has come to a production standstill. The production absence is costing Meal-Mart heavy thousands in losses. Meal-Mart is doing the best they can to rid themselves of the parasites and get back into business. I guess that's what that new interesting flavor in my turkey roll was.Leave Comment ---This article posted by Chaptzem : 11:14 PM
This is actually a rehashing of the pr story you put up almost 2 weeks ago about alle processing being closed down due to listeria.Cheptzem regurgitates it, and it makes it to another round on jwb...
http://jewishwhistleblower.blogspot.com/2005/02/usda-shuts-down-plant-producing-empire.htmlThe Alle plant was in Maspeth, New York. The Meal-Mart plant is on Long Island.I count 2 seperate plants and stories.
1.Alle Processing IS Meal Mart, the way Agriprocessors is Rubashkins.2. Maspeth is located in Queens near Long Island City. Many Boro Parkers consider Queens part of Long Island, and/or think Long Island City is in Long Island.3. Listeria is a type of bacteria.4. Chaptzem isn't usually the type to do his own heavy research.Bottom line- until I hear otherwise, I assume Chaptzem took your story from a few weeks ago and regurgitated it in a simpler, more dumbed-down form, and you reported it again, thinking it was news. Talk about your internet echo chamber...
Many NY residents (even some people who live in Queens) confuse Maspeth, which is in Queens, with Massapequa, which is in Nassau.
I thought the Alle plant was producing poultry products that were recalled, while the Meal-Mart plant produced primarily cold-cuts.Can anyone clarify if it is the same plant?
