see: http://www.shmoozenet.com/yudel/mtarchives/000899.htmlExcellent post.Orthodox spokesman who said that Orthodox Judaism views leaders of Reform and Conservative Judaism:"These people are not so much meant to be hated as enemies and wished dead for the sake of 'revenge' or to see them dead. The way we hate such people is not like the 'cat hates the mouse,' but rather like the 'storekeeper hates the vermin' which infest hisstore, not hating the vermin themselves but wanting themgone in order to arrest the damage they are causing. Weresent their existence. So, in lieu of the fact that we arenot allowed to physically harm these people today, weshould still treat them with utter contempt and disrespect, avoiding contact with them as one would with anydestructive fiend."Points to be awarded to my blog readers:1) 2 points for naming him2) 3 points for the name of the book and year of the printing that had this excerpt3) 5 points for a link to my blog post on this religious leader4) 10 points to any of the numerous links on Torah.org to articles written by this religious leaderPoints apply to whoever posts answers 1st whether here or at Yudeline.
More from mystery Orthodox spokesman's book:Mystery Orthodox Spokesman writes about Conservative and Reform leaders that there is "a law which orders loyal Jews to kill these types of people if at all possible," a law which was declaredinapplicable today by the Chazon Ish but which "remainsvaluable for the light it sheds on the way Real Judaism"regards such people.5) 15 bonus points for any reader that can determine how many articles by Mystery Orthodox Spokesman are on (Cross-Currents blog founder) Rabbi Menken's Torah.org website.
More from mystery Orthodox spokesman's book:Mystery Orthodox spokesman states that Conservative and Reform leaders "qualify for the infamous titles of min and apikoros" and"are the followers of Korach;" mystery Orthodox spokesman states that "these man-made 'religions' [Conservative and Reform] are the most destructive forces in the history of the Jewish people andall those who seek to spread their noxious heresies aremesisim, instigators whose aim is to lead astray themasses;"
Again the "hate speech" Jeff Ballabon and Yaakov Menken "discovered":>Orthodox Jews point of view concerning the Reform movement:>-Less religious, therefore less Jewish>-Not real Jews because we don’t observe properlyJeff Ballabon's reaction:>ADL et al, should demand the Reform movement immediately>denounce the libel against Orthodox Jews and clarify that,>unlike Reform, Orthodox Jews maintain the age-old rule>that there is no belief litmus test for a Jew. We don’t>toss you out because we disagree with you or you disagree>with us. No, we just delete and block your comments. Thanks Reb Yudel for pointing out what whining hypocrites Cross-Current bloggers are.
6) 20 bonus points for any reader that can determine how many times Mystery Orthodox Spokesman is referred to by Rabbi Menken on the Cross-Currents blog to date.
2 points for Joe Schick:http://www.shmoozenet.com/yudel/mtarchives/000899.html#commentsCommentsI assume the quote is from Avi Shafran. I certainly agree that the statements are repugnant. But wasn't the book published something like 30 years ago? It would seem to be best to ask R. Shafran for an explanation and whether he would retract what he wrote then.
He's explained and retracted many times already. Jewish Whistleblower needs to find a gainful occupation of some sort.
"No, we just delete and block your comments." So what? Why are you guys so deeply over-sensitive? You refer to "hate speech" in quotes. It gives the impression that Cross-Currents called is hate speech. I don't see where they said that.
>He's explained and retracted many times already. Jewish Per Reb Yudal:http://www.shmoozenet.com/yudel/mtarchives/000899.html>The paragraph in question was only removed from the web>version of the online book within the past year or so.If an explanation/retraction/apology exists, please post.I can't see any explanation for printing and distributing such repugnant statements for over 30 years.I'd like to see (if it exits) what was retracted, when and why.Frankly, I'd like to see an intelligent apology.
